Halloween season is here so it’s time to spooky up the snacks with these “poison” apple nachos! These are super easy and made with kid-friendly ingredients that can be customized to your family’s needs and wants. Check them out below and enjoy some fun family time together.
Ingredients:
- green apples (6 used here)
- melted caramel dip/sauce
- melted chocolate
- Cheerios cereal
- raisins
- chopped Sour Punch Bites for “poison”
- candy corn for garnish and extra Halloween themed treat
Prep Work
Start by slicing the apples at about a 1/4 inch and lay out in a circular pattern. Next, heat some caramel and drizzle across the apple slices. Repeat with the melted chocolate. Sprinkle Cheerios, raisin and chopped Sour Punch Bites evenly across apple slices at the end. This part is great for the kiddos to help with. Lastly, enjoy customizing each bite and spending time together as a family!
Why it’s Good
My daughter LOVES apple slices and these apple nachos are a great way to deliver a serving of fruit in a fun way. The raisins are mixed ion for a little extra and aren’t noticeable. Cheerios over peanuts give it some crunch and are less of a choking hazard. They’re actually my favorite part! The caramel and chocolate are classic and festive holiday apple toppings. Adding the Sour Punch Bites as “poison” makes it a fun Halloween treat!
