So, I made a salad. Go me! It’s a chicken, walnut, and apple salad to be more precise, and it is bomb. Also, it’s almost vegan, meaning it’s vegan minus the chicken. Check out all the yummy goodness below and save this recipe for the perfect spring time meal!
Ingredients:
- baby greens medley
- chopped apples
- walnuts
- balsamic vinaigrette
- grilled chicken
- Garlic Parmesan Flavored Nutritional Yeast by @sarifoodscompany
Prep Work
A salad is pretty simple, right? I started with the baby greens as the base, then added the chopped apples and walnuts. I mixed that up a bit and added the grilled chicken strips. After that, I coated it with some balsamic vinaigrette and Garlic Parmesan Flavored Nutritional Yeast seasoning. Yum and low carb!
The Seasoning
As I try to be healthier this year, I am also trying some new substitutes for food and seasonings that are still packed with flavor.

For this salad, I replaced the parmesan cheese for this delicious garlic parmesan flavored nutritional yeast and let me tell you, it’s totally worth it! This seasoning:
- uses garlic, with powerful anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting properties
- uses a cheesy, raw nutritional yeast base which provides nutrients like Vitamin A, beta-carotene, potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron, and more
- is dairy free and delicious
