Guess what? It’s STILL THAT TIME OF YEAR! The best time of year to do fun over the top crafting. Oh how I love it. It doesn’t have to be hard or complicated either. In fact with this blog, I am going to show you how to make THE easiest DIY Christmas ornaments with all inexpensive supplies. Cute, creative, and crafty. The perfect craft to do with your kids. That’s what this time of year is all about!
What You’ll Need.
- Little white pails
- from the wedding supply section at Dollar Tree
- Red beaded necklace
- from the party supply section at Dollar Tree
- Christmas ribbon
- from the holiday section of, you guessed it, Dollar Tree
- Ornaments for mini trees
- Small red bows
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun
How To … Craft.
Don’t forget that the best part of DIY Christmas ornaments, or any DIY for that matter, is you get to make it your own; add that personal touch and make a memory. So if you need different colors or decorations to match YOUR theme, go for it! I’m only here to light your fire. π Let’s get started!
Pearl “Pail”ey
- To measure how much you’ll need, wrap one of the red beaded necklaces around the top rim of the pail.
- Cut where the beads meet.
- Place a glob of hot glue on the back side of your ornament at the top rim.
- Place one end of red beaded necklace there.
- Follow the top rim of the pail with a little line of hot glue all the way around, placing beads on top as you go.
- Once you make it all the way around, add another glob of hot glue to secure the other end of you beaded necklace.
- Measure your piece of ribbon in the same way as step 1.
- Because of the shape of the pail, the ribbon will not lie flat across the middle. Hence why my ribbon is diagonal. Ends up being cuter that way anyway.
- Hot glue one end of the ribbon on the back, wrap the ribbon and hot glue the other end.
- No need to hot glue the ribbon across the front.
- Use wire or hot glue to attach the little red bow to the handle of the pail and you’re done! On to the next one.
Peppermint “Pail”y
- Hot glue the mini ornament front and center to your pail.
- Use wire or hot glue to attach the little red bow to the handle.
- You probably didn’t need a step by step for this one, but I was taught that making a list requires at least 3 bullets so here we are.
I hope you enjoy your new little creations and I will catch you at the next DIY craft later this week! π
