There is so much to explore and fortunately for you, I have compiled the ultimate must see destination guide to Arizona all in one spot! Check it out below and don’t forget to download the free road trippin’ printable to keep the kiddos engaged on the ride.

Mogollon Rim
One must see, beautiful destination that you should add to your list is the Mogollon Rim. It is one of our favorite spots in Arizona to visit or camp and it’s only a few hours from Phoenix. It has GORGEOUS cliff views, some extreme hiking and that crisp fresh air that brings you back to life. It’s also where my husband and I went on one of our first dates and where he proposed a year later. Check out the pics!
Grand Canyon
Literally one of the seven natural wonders of the world, sooooo a MUST SEE! The Grand Canyon offers lots to do, such as: hiking, guided learning adventures, Colorado River rafting, and train rides! Plus, check out some interesting Grand Canyon facts from the pros here.
Jerome
Looking for some sPoOkY fun? Another must see destination in Arizona is the ghost town of Jerome. Filled with haunted hotels and creepy vibes, this place is full of history (some that refuses to leave). Be sure to stop in and check out my favorites, The Haunted Hamburger, Gold King Mine, and the Jerome Grand Hotel.
Petrified Forest
Stop and take a look at the past frozen in time. So cool! The Petrified Forest National Park holds one of the most vivid natural preservations of long ago; filled with fossils of fallen trees from millions of years ago, plus the colorful Painted Desert. A great learning experience for the whole fam!
Tombstone
Yeehaw! Get a taste of the real wild west in Tombstone, Arizona. It’s especially interesting if you preface it by watching the film before you go (wink). Visit the historic sites of the Wyatt Erp crew, and a cowboy shoot out reenactment in the street. The Bird Cage Theatre offers ghost tours that will legitimately give you the creeps (I know firsthand). If you’re into that, it’s definitely an Arizona must see destination.
Sedona
The beautiful red rock scenery will bring you there, and the serene and quiet lifestyle will keep you. Sedona offers a plethora of pretty boutiques and shops, plus high end dining options. If you’re just there for the eye-catching landscape, make sure to take a Pink Jeep Tour all up in there. Book here.
Sunset Crater
It’s a volcano, y’all! Enough said. I mean it hasn’t erupted since about 1150 A.D. but it’s still an impressive sight to see. It is a Cinder Cone located in Northern Arizona and is a must see destination! Check out this U.S. National Monument here.
Horseshoe Bend/ Antelope Canyon
Last but not least for this ultimate Arizona must see destination guide, Horseshoe Bend. First of all, FANTASTIC photo ops. Second, it is a small natural wonder itself. Great for hiking and OMG views. Tours available here.

Road Trip Tips
Road trips can be an easy and affordable escape from the daily grind. So here are some quick road trip tips to help you get out and on the road for some summer fun:
- Google your home state and see what’s around you to visit (i.e. parks, monuments, historical sites, landmarks, natural beauty, etc).
- Make a plan and create a route from place to place.
- Check the terrain (make sure you have the right vehicle for the trip and tools for a flat tire).
- Calculate your gas (fill up and check miles/ you might want to consider an extra gas can for emergencies).
- ALWAYS pack cold weather gear for stranded emergencies regardless of the weather (my go-to is a thick wool blanket we leave in our vehicle).
- Pack lots of water, of course!
- HAVE FUN getting out of town even if it’s just driving around for the day. Go soak up some scenery.
Let’s go on a road trip with some friends! Check out my fellow GalPals to see what they have created on their blogs.
