Adding some color to my twine crafts with YARN! I’ve been digging the pastel color yarn at Dollar Tree lately and since I hoard craft supplies, into the cart it went! I snagged a couple tinsel eggs and bunnies at the beginning of spring and was planning on wrapping them in twine to fit it with my other décor, but I thought Easter deserved a little more color. The new yarn worked perfectly to make a festive pastel and twine egg, plus pail pink bunny! I’ll be incorporating into more of my Dollar Tree crafts from now on. So if you love yarn, you’ll love these customizable Dollar Tree Easter yarn crafts made with supplies from the Dollar Tree. Enjoy!

What You’ll Need From Dollar Tree:
- tinsel egg and/or bunny decorations (2 of each)
- jute twine
- all of the yarn (or at least 2-3 colors)
- scissors
- HOT GLUE!
Over EASY Egg
- Start by removing the tinsel from your Easter decorations.
- Hot glue the inside of the egg frames together to create a 3D egg shape.
- Start with wrapping twine all the way around the center to get an idea of what size you want the top and bottom to be.
- I tried to keep the twine center more even and straight and the ends more messy to give it a decorated Easter egg look.
- Hot glue the end of the twine to whichever side “the back” is going to be.
- Repeat the process at either end with your preferred yarn color.
- Zig zagging across the bottom and top gave the egg a patterned look.
- Finally, add some hot glue to the tips of the pegs sticking out around the egg so that the yarn doesn’t pop off and unravel.
Here Comes Peter YARNytail:
- This project was a bit more challenging. Start by removing the tinsel from your Easter decorations.
- If you want the inside of the ear a different color, do those first. I did mine with the twine and wrapped the twine from peg to peg in different directions.
- Next, focus one of the 3 columns at a time. This will help keep the bunny shape.
- If you do the bunnies separately like me, you will have to tie the two pieces to keep them together.
- Start with the ears. Wrap yarn or twine around the ear base, then up and around various spots throughout the ear pulling the two pieces together as you go.
- Around the sides is a bit easier. Zig zag around from one peg to the other, from piece to piece pulling them together as they go.
- Finally, add some hot glue to the tips of the pegs sticking out around the egg so that the yarn doesn’t pop off and unravel.
- If you glue the bunnies together at the start you will have more of a challenge pulling the yarn through the small gaps in between each column, but maybe a more smooth and straight yarn look like the egg. Up to you!
So which comes first; the bunny or the egg? I hope you have some fun putting together these simple Dollar Tree Easter yarn crafts and they add a little something special to your Easter décor.
